He’s a short story for my many fans and commenters who regularly interact on my web page, NOT! If you take the time to visit leave a comment, it would be really great, it’s what it’s for.
So Jack had Been interested in the paranormal since he was a kid, he’d read loads of books and watched all the “videos” on YouTube but it really hadn’t quenched his thirst for his own paranormal experience. He decided to try a ghost event in his local town which had been advertised on one of the many paranormal pages he followed.
The location was an old boys school which had also been a adult learning centre but had been closed down by the council. A local paranormal group had been given permission to hold events by the council, the building was over 150 years old and had been built by a mining company for their employees children.
The night of the event Jack made his way to old school and was met by Tracey who was meeting and greeting people, confirming they had booked and sending them off to an area that was set aside for refreshments and planning the night once everyone had arrived. By 9pm everyone had arrived, there were only 7 people including Jack which suited him fine as he wasn’t really a people person.
Once the initial brief was completed everyone was split into 2 groups, Jack was in a team of 3, himself and a couple called Rich and Anna who were in their mid 30’s. After the introductions and being allocated a location all 3 moved off to the main hall where there was a small raised platform. Some equipment was already set up for the group otherwise they were left to their own devices.
Rich decided to take charge much to Jacks annoyance but he was going to let it spoil his night of ghost hunting. Jack offered to sit at the other end of the hall with the video camera whilst Rich and Anna conducted a number of experiments set by the organisers.
To say the night was a let down was an understatement, absolutely nothing happened throughout the night, even being moved to a different location didn’t help. Jack was very frustrated with the lack of incidents and made his feelings known to the organisers who explained that there had been a number of reported encounters with an old headmaster who had died of a heart attack in his office 60 years ago but Jack was having none of it and vented his frustrations as he left stating that that he hoped he’d been a better headmaster than he was a ghost, a childish comment that he regretted by the time he’d got home and reflected on what he’d said.
Jack put the event to the back of his mind and got on with his daily Monday to Friday routine. By the middle of the week his usually good sleeping pattern was being disturbed by strange dreams about the headmaster from the old school, what made them strange was that in each dream Jack was the pupil, in fact the only pupil and each night the old headmaster was getting angrier and angrier until one night he had given Jack the cane across both hands what made this even more scarier was that when Jack woke up there were cane marks on both hands. Jack was never able to remember what had made the headmaster angry in the first place but this worried him a lot.
Part 2 to follow soon.
